GLP-1 Support

As a Registered Dietitian with significant experience in a primary care setting during the rise in the use of GLP-1 medications, I understand the complexity of navigating these medications and the importance of having a qualified care team when doing so.

Working with a HAES informed Registered Dietitian while taking a GLP-1 medication has the ability to:

  • minimize unpleasant side effects

  • prevent muscle loss and nutrient deficiencies

  • improve long term health outcomes

  • reduce disordered eating behaviors

Taking a GLP-1 does not always result in weight changes and is not only prescribed or taken for intentional weight loss. Sometimes, it can help improve health outcomes without making changes to your weight. Other times, you may see changes in your weight and no improvement or worsening of your health markers. Or maybe, you have had the experience of being on and off of these medications and feel emotional just thinking about the weight changes that came along with it. These are all reasons to reach out!

We may be a good fit if:

  • You are taking or exploring taking a GLP-1 to manage a current health condition

  • You want to improve your relationship with food and your body and explore intuitive eating principles

  • You could use support in navigating expected versus experienced weight and health outcomes

We may NOT be a good fit if:

  • You are only taking a GLP-1 medication for intentional weight loss

Disclaimer: GLP-1 medications were invented as a medical tool and should not be used without medical supervision and a qualified care team.
